Flamboyance explores the dynamic musical culture of 14th- and 15th-century Europe, emphasizing themes of fire, motion, and transformation. Inspired by the richness of flamboyant Gothic art and architecture, the recording traces the spread of polyphonic music across regions, social classes, and sacred and secular settings. Featuring works by composers such as Francesco Landini, Johannes Ciconia, Guillaume Du Fay, and Gilles Binchois, the program presents motets, chansons, madrigals, dances, and sacred works that balance devotion, passion, intellect, and grandeur. Performed by the expanded Sollazzo Ensemble, the recording recreates the atmosphere of princely courts and ceremonial banquets while presenting medieval music as vivid, immediate, and emotionally alive.

Sollazzo Ensemble is an internationally acclaimed ensemble specializing in Medieval and Renaissance music, founded in 2014 by Anna Danilevskaia. Renowned for its expressive interpretations and distinctive sound, the group combines historical research with the diverse artistic perspectives of its members to create emotionally engaging performances. Sollazzo collaborates with leading European cultural institutions and currently serves as ensemble in residence at the Arsenal in Metz while participating in “The Makers” program at the Concertgebouw in Bruges. Following award-winning success at the 2015 York Early Music Competition, the ensemble released acclaimed recordings including the Leuven Chansonnier series. Their extensive discography, focused on 13th- to 15th-century repertoire, has received numerous honors from publications such as Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, and Diapason, while the group continues to perform widely across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
