Antonín Dvořák (1841–1904) was a Czech composer and one of the most prominent figures in 19th-century music. Born in Nelahozeves, Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), Dvořák's music blends Czech folk elements with classical traditions. His works include symphonies, concertos, chamber music, choral compositions, and operas. Among his best-known pieces are Symphony No. 9 "From the New World," Cello Concerto in B minor, and the String Quartet No. 12 "American." Dvořák spent time in the United States, where he was inspired by American folk music, particularly in his New World Symphony. His contributions helped shape the nationalistic movement in music, and his legacy continues to influence classical music today.
