With Obsessions, violinist Pauline Klaus presents a musical self-portrait in which personal memories intertwine with supreme virtuosity. From Bach to Ysaÿe, from Ernst to Arroyo—each work reflects a part of her artistic journey, rooted in polyphonic clarity, romantic depth, and contemporary resonance. Numerous mentors have accompanied her along the way, including Tedi Papavrami, Raphaël Merlin (Quatuor Ebène), Guy Danel (Quatuor Danel), Miguel Da Silva (Quatuor Ysaÿe), and Jeanne-Marie Conquer (Ensemble Intercontemporain). This musical diary is intense, uninhibited, and profoundly alive.

Pauline Klaus is a French violinist and graduate of the Paris Conservatoire and Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She also holds a Master’s in Philosophy from the Sorbonne. A passionate chamber musician, she has performed for over a decade with Quatuor Lontano and collaborates with numerous prominent artists. Prizewinner of the Henri Koch and Padova competitions, she is dedicated to contemporary music, regularly performing with leading ensembles such as Ensemble Intercontemporain and Le Balcon. Klaus is also the dedicatee of many new works. She teaches at the Francis Poulenc Conservatory in Paris and has directed the Musicales d’Assy Festival since 2015.
