Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, son of Johann Sebastian Bach, was a leading 18th-century keyboard virtuoso and composer, central to the Empfindsamkeit style, which emphasizes expressive nuance and harmonic invention. His works, from Berlin sonatas to imaginative Fantasies, combine technical brilliance with emotional depth and were widely published for both connoisseurs and amateurs. In this recording, Arnaud de Pasquale brings out the full eloquence, subtlety, and expressive power of C.P.E. Bach’s keyboard repertoire through virtuosic and insightful interpretation.

Arnaud De Pasquale, raised in a baroque musical environment, began harpsichord studies at age five under Dominique Ferran at the Conservatory of Poitiers and later trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris with Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou, furthering his studies with eminent early-music specialists. He performs with ensembles including Pygmalion, Ensemble Correspondances, Collegium Vocale, and Le Poème Harmonique, and is a soloist on harpsichord, organ, pianoforte, and clavichord, appearing at major festivals across Europe, Mexico, and Canada. His recordings, praised by critics, include collaborations with violist Lucile Boulanger and the Organs of the World series, alongside albums of Louis XIII repertoire and upcoming works such as Mozart in Paris, 1778, highlighting his versatility, historical insight, and international acclaim.
