Gaetano Donizetti, a central figure of bel canto opera, also composed around 200 solo songs, many of which have long remained rarely performed or unknown. A major initiative by Opera Rara, curated by Roger Parker and led by Carlo Rizzi, presents these works across eight recital albums, highlighting Donizetti’s importance in the 19th-century song repertoire and restoring the prominence of the Italian tradition. This volume features soprano Rosa Feola, celebrated for her radiant tone and expressive artistry. A prize-winner at Operalia, she brings exceptional technical control and musical sensitivity to these rarely heard songs, illuminating their elegance and emotional depth.
Rosa Feola (born 1986) is an acclaimed Italian operatic soprano known for her expressive artistry and technical finesse.
