Anton Reicha (1770–1836), an innovative yet historically underappreciated composer, deliberately refrained from promoting his own works, anticipating that their value would be recognized only much later. His experimental approach foreshadowed key elements of twentieth-century music, including minimalism and microtonality. Today, his reputation is growing independently of associations with figures like Beethoven or his notable pupils. Following a recent recording of his Piano Concerto, his Six Piano Trios, Op. 101 have now received a landmark recording over two centuries after publication. Performed by Trio Bohémo, the works reveal technical brilliance and visionary qualities that anticipate Romanticism, brought vividly to life through exceptional musicianship and modern recording techniques.
