Laura D. Grantier is a distinguished clarinetist, educator, and arts leader who serves as Assistant Professor of Clarinet and Woodwind Area Head at the University of Utah. A former member of the United States Navy Band for more than 25 years, she held leadership roles including Principal Clarinet and Woodwind Leader, performing over 2,250 concerts, ceremonies, and educational events. Grantier is an active advocate for music education, having founded initiatives such as Navy Band Clarinet Day, University of Utah Woodwind Day, and multiple student-focused outreach programs. She performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral artist, appears frequently at major clarinet conferences and festivals, and serves as Secretary of the International Clarinet Association. Recognized for her commitment to performance, pedagogy, and artistic collaboration, she continues to shape the next generation of woodwind musicians through teaching, research, and community engagement.
