Bartolomeo Campagnoli (1751–1827) was an accomplished violinist who trained under Italian masters Tartini and Nardini before leading the venerable Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig. Characterized by his signature blend of "German learnedness with Italian soul," Campagnoli’s music integrates lyrical melodies with the firm structures of the First Viennese School. This 3-CD collection features his highly attractive string quartets, flute quartets, and flute-violin duos, all capturing a prevailing light and expressive mood. Embracing historically informed performance practice, these vibrant pieces are brought to life by Ensemble Symposium, Ensemble Il Demetrio, flutist Stefano Parrino, and violinist Francesco Parrino.
