Gianandrea Noseda is widely celebrated as a versatile conductor equally distinguished in both the operatic and symphonic spheres. Following his highly acclaimed debut as General Music Director at the Zurich Opera House, Noseda directed the Zurich Opera Orchestra in a focused exploration of the orchestral masterpieces of Johannes Brahms. This live anthology features Brahms's four symphonies, completed between 1876 and 1885 and revered as foundational milestones of the Romantic repertoire. Captured across various concert performances in Zurich, the recording highlights Noseda's masterful interpretation and the ensemble's symphonic prowess, offering listeners a cohesive and compelling musical document.

Italian conductor Gianandrea Noseda (b. 1964) is acclaimed for his work in both symphonic and operatic repertoire, with a prolific discography. Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra since 2017, he became General Music Director of Opernhaus Zürich in 2021/22, where his tenure includes a new Ring Cycle with Andreas Homoki. He also serves as Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. Dedicated to fostering young talent, Noseda regularly leads masterclasses, tours with youth orchestras such as the European Union Youth Orchestra, and directs the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia alongside its Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra.
