The album also boasts two world premiere recordings: Herrmann’s Souvenirs de Voyage (adapted for clarinet and string orchestra, featuring Ma Yue) and Friedhofer’s Suite for 5 Woodwinds, capturing the orchestra's refined clarity and inventive spirit.

Founded in 1979 under founding music director Choo Hoey, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is a premier ensemble based at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay and the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, delivering over 60 performances annually. Managed by the Singapore Symphony Group—which also oversees national choruses, youth orchestras, and major music festivals—the orchestra is currently led by Music Director Hannu Lintu. Recognized globally for its artistic excellence, the SSO earned third place for Gramophone’s Orchestra of the Year Award in 2021 and was featured among BBC Music Magazine’s Top 21 Best Orchestras in the World in 2022.
