Released on May 29, 2026, by Ulysses Arts in partnership with Bridges Music, Paul Henley Piano Works Volume 2 features pianist Pavel Timofeyevsky performing two significant compositions. Henley's Sonata No. 4 is a substantial three-movement work that transitions from a dynamic, affirming Allegro con brio to a tragic, searching Adagio, concluding with a high-energy Molto energico described as magical and romantic. The album also features the Eighteen Preludes, a major landmark in Henley’s career. Intended to be experienced as a cohesive set due to their interconnected tonal centers, Timofeyevsky recorded them in a single sequence, delivering a dramatic, high-impact performance.

A native of Worcester, composer Paul Henley trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Andrew Downes and Robert Simpson, graduating with honours in 1983. Following an extensive freelance career as an operatic and recital singer, as well as a vocal instructor at institutions like Mountview Theatre School, Henley now focuses primarily on composition. His diverse portfolio features three cello sonatas, a Christmas musical, orchestral commissions, and various chamber works. Rooted in traditional foundations—melody, harmony, rhythm, and form—Henley's recent projects include high-profile instrumental commissions and vocal collaborations, which emphasize the development of a distinct, individual musical voice.

Pianist and composer Pavel Timofeyevsky is an acclaimed artist who graduated with distinction from London's Royal Academy of Music. He has performed extensively across the globe, including prestigious venues like Wigmore Hall, and has received numerous accolades, such as the BBC/Guardian Young Composer of the Year award. Beyond his solo and chamber career, Timofeyevsky is a dedicated advocate for contemporary music, a film score composer, and an educator. Currently serving as the Music Director of Devon Opera, he also acts as the Artistic Director of the Philomel Creative Circle and the Director of the Philomel Music Academy.
