Acclaimed as a "poet of the keyboard," pianist Adam Laloum explores the kaleidoscopic and deeply romantic world of Robert Schumann in this compelling release. The program beautifully pairs the passionate outbursts and tender reveries of the celebrated Kreisleriana with the rarely performed Novelletten, a suite that functions as a theater of intimate and fantastic expressions. Throughout the recording, Laloum masterfully reveals the profound emotional riches of the repertoire, utilizing the piano to echo the quintessential, innermost voice of German Romanticism with exceptional artistry and sensitivity.

Born in 1987, French pianist Adam Laloum began studying piano at ten and trained at the Toulouse Conservatoire, CNSM Paris with Michel Béroff, CNSM Lyon with Géry Moutier, and later with Evgeni Koroliov in Hamburg. He won First Prize at the 2009 Clara Haskil Competition and was named ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ at the 2017 Victoires de la Musique Classique. Laloum performs internationally with leading orchestras and conductors, and his recordings—including works by Brahms, Schumann, and Schubert—have received top honors such as the Diapason d’Or of the Year and Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles Cros. He is also an active chamber musician and co-founder/artistic director of Les Pages Musicales de Lagrasse.
