This compilation offers a compelling survey of contemporary Polish choral writing, traversing a dynamic emotional landscape from intimate, contemplative meditations to radiant, exultant hymns. The modern musical language is expertly balanced by the lucid, finely blended sonority of the Kielce-based chamber choir, Fermata. Renowned for its interpretative insight, tonal refinement, and exemplary musicianship, the ensemble brings immense expertise to this collection, backed by ten widely admired recordings and numerous festival accolades. The resulting performance offers listeners a deeply spiritual, resonant experience that feels genuinely delivered ex anima—from the soul.
Established in 1998 under the artistic leadership of conductor Ewa Robak, the Fermata Chamber Choir consists of over a dozen vocalists performing a diverse a cappella repertoire that spans classical masterpieces to popular choral arrangements. Based in Kielce, the ensemble is deeply committed to music education and community engagement, famously initiating the interactive "Pieśniobranie" concert series. With nine studio production credits alongside two recent standalone a cappella albums, Fermata has earned prestigious local and international accolades, including regional artistic prizes, festival Grand Prix awards, and multiple Platinum and Diamond certifications, all driven by a shared joy in collective vocal performance.
