Legends and Light Vol. 4 continues Navona Records’ acclaimed orchestral series, delivering a compelling collection of contemporary works performed by the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava and the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. The album masterfully navigates diverse thematic landscapes, blending meditative, cosmic soundscapes with atmospheric reflections inspired by nature and memory. Traditional folkloric influences are sophisticatedly reimagined through symphonic writing, while elements of fantasy-tinged storytelling and abstract spiritual growth enrich the repertoire. Ultimately, this compilation offers a deeply thoughtful musical journey that balances introspection with cinematic imagination, brought to life through enchanting, world-class orchestral performances.

Based in Ostrava, Czech Republic, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava is a premier symphony orchestra comprising over 100 top-tier musicians. Originating from a radio ensemble during an era when iconic composers like Leoš Janáček and Igor Stravinsky frequented the city, the orchestra was officially established in 1954 and began touring shortly after. Renowned for its distinct sound and unique repertoire, this emerging international force has collaborated with legendary artists such as Plácido Domingo and Diana Ross. Today, the ensemble remains one of the country's most prestigious orchestras, celebrated for its rich history and world-class performances.

As one of the oldest and most prestigious symphony orchestras in the Czech Republic, the Olomouc-based Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra has anchored regional musical culture for over 70 years. Shaped by legendary figures like Otto Klemperer and Václav Neumann, the orchestra boasts a vast repertoire that balances 19th- and 20th-century classics with a strong commitment to contemporary music, having premiered over 250 new works. Renowned for its authentic interpretations of Czech masters, the ensemble tours internationally and maintains a rich discography. Domestically, it serves as a vital cultural institution, hosting major festivals and leading youth educational initiatives.
