Acclaimed harpist Emily Granger has announced her seventh album, A Thing Of Beauty, released under the ABC Classic label. This deeply personal collection invites listeners to embrace stillness and simplicity through the intimate voice of the harp. Showcasing works exclusively by Australian women composers, the album explores themes of vulnerability and landscape, featuring reimagined instrumental pieces alongside two new commissions by Hilary Kleinig and Alice Chance. Created almost entirely by women, the project underscores Granger’s commitment to championing contemporary repertoire, serving as both an artistic celebration and a tranquil sanctuary from a complex world.

American-born, Australian-based harpist Emily Granger is a versatile musician performing across classical, popular, and art music genres. Currently the Principal Harp with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Granger holds degrees from Indiana University and the Chicago College of the Performing Arts. Her career spans performances at Carnegie Hall, various international festivals, and collaborations with major symphony orchestras and ensembles like Ensemble Q. A dedicated champion of contemporary repertoire, she has premiered numerous new works. Granger is also a highly accomplished recording artist with multiple acclaimed albums, as well as a sought-after educator serving on the faculty at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
