The sixteenth volume of the acclaimed ‘Next Generation Mozart Soloists’ series, a collaborative project with the Orpheum Foundation, features celebrated French pianist Marie-Ange Nguci alongside conductor Howard Griffiths. This penultimate installment brings together two of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s major keyboard concertos composed during his prolific year of 1785. The recording includes the dramatic Concerto in D minor KV 466, Mozart’s first minor-key piano concerto, famously premiered by the composer on a pedal piano to immediate acclaim. Completing the program is the majestic Concerto in E-flat major KV 482, composed later that same year, showcasing Nguci's exceptional artistry in this iconic survey.

Franco-Albanian pianist Marie-Ange Nguci (b. 1997) is a versatile concert artist who achieved early recognition by entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris at age 13, subsequently earning multiple advanced degrees in piano, musicology, analysis, pedagogy, and orchestra conducting. First-prize winner at the 2015 MacKenzie Awards International Piano Competition in New York, she has performed in major venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and Merkin Concert Hall. Nguci’s expansive repertoire spans from the Baroque era to modern contemporary works, frequently collaborating directly with living composers and recording acclaimed programs focused on French masterworks.
