Itzhak Perlman is an internationally acclaimed Israeli-American violinist, conductor, and pedagogue, widely regarded as one of the greatest violinists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Born on August 31, 1945, in Tel Aviv, Israel, Perlman began playing the violin at a young age, overcoming polio, which left him with limited mobility. He studied at the Juilliard School and rose to prominence for his extraordinary technique, expressive playing, and wide-ranging repertoire. Perlman has performed with major orchestras around the world and recorded numerous works, winning multiple Grammy Awards. In addition to his performance career, he is a dedicated teacher and has been a prominent advocate for music education. His contributions to classical music and his charismatic presence have made him a beloved figure globally.
