This recording presents works by four Spanish composers active from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Evaristo García Torres, Luis Leandro Mariani, and Eduardo Torres were central figures in Seville’s musical life, shaping its cultural landscape through their work as composers, conductors, administrators, critics, and educators. Their contributions helped define the city’s artistic identity during a period of rapid change. Joaquín Larregla, by contrast, was a renowned virtuoso pianist whose career was rooted in Madrid and extended internationally. Together, the selected pieces offer a representative cross-section of Spanish musical expression from this formative era.

Auxiliadora Caballero trained in piano and organ at the Seville Conservatory, later refining her skills through masterclasses with leading European organists and notable piano professors. She has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at international festivals and venues including Sant'Ignazio in Rome, St. Peter’s in the Vatican, and major cultural events in Spain. Now based in Zurich, she serves as organist at several churches while continuing advanced studies with Els Biesemans and Karl-Andreas Kolly. Her piano repertoire spans classical and Spanish composers, and her organ work combines core German Baroque literature with a strong commitment to Iberian music of the 16th–18th centuries.
