The Israeli conductor and pianist Yuval Zorn has recorded a thought-provoking album that reflects the spirit of troubled times—old orders are crumbling, and the future is unclear and uncertain: “This album was created during a time of war, the full impact of which is yet to be understood, and making it provided me with a much-needed safe haven from the turbulence outside. Much like Debussy’s ‘And the moon sets upon the temple that was’ (from Images II), the music here embodies not only the decay of an old order but also the potential growth of a new one, with its hopes and perils.”

Yuval Zorn, born in Jerusalem in 1976, is a leading Israeli conductor known for his work in opera and contemporary music. A graduate of the Rubin Academy and alumnus of the Royal Opera House's Young Artists Programme, he has held key positions at institutions like the Frankfurt Opera and worked with top orchestras and ensembles worldwide. Zorn has conducted major works at the Israeli Opera and prestigious festivals across Europe and the Americas. Also an active pianist, he released his first solo album LANDSCAPES on the British label Rubicon Classics. Dedicated to education, he mentors young musicians and teaches conducting at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
