Sueye Park’s Echoes of Exile is a powerful solo violin recital exploring themes of displacement and identity through works composed between the 1920s and 1950s. Following her acclaimed recordings of the Paganini Caprices and Journey through a Century, Park presents music by composers who experienced exile—externally or internally—due to political upheaval or artistic conviction. Enescu and Ysaÿe bookend the program, while Bartók, Ben-Haim, and Zimmermann reflect on loss, cultural longing, and resilience. Park’s expressive interpretation highlights how these composers transformed exile into profound artistic statements, offering timely resonance in today’s turbulent world.

Sueye Park, born in South Korea in 2000, is widely recognized as one of the most outstanding violinists of her generation. She began violin studies at age four and, by nine, was studying with Ulf Wallin in Berlin. As a soloist, she has performed with leading orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Weimar and Seoul Philharmonic, and at festivals across Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Her critically acclaimed recordings include Paganini Caprices, Salut d’amour, and Journey Through a Century. Park’s repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary works. Since 2020, she has continued her studies in Vienna and performs on a 1774 Storioni violin.
