Benedict Kloeckner (b. 1989) is a leading German cellist, performing worldwide with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, and Munich Chamber Orchestra under conductors including Barenboim, Eschenbach, Metzmacher, and Rattle. He has appeared at major venues from Carnegie Hall and Berlin Philharmonie to Vienna Musikverein and Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and collaborates in chamber music with artists such as Ax, Mutter, Schiff, and Kremer. Dedicated to contemporary music, he has premiered works by Wolfgang Rihm, Dai Fujikura, Howard Blake, and others. Artistic Director of the International Music Festival Koblenz, he studied at Kronberg Academy and plays the 1680 Francesco Rugeri “Ex Maurice Gendron” cello.

Kai Schumacher (b. 1979) is a German pianist known for his bold mix of classical, contemporary, and rock influences. A prodigy who debuted with Shostakovich’s Second Piano Concerto at 15, he studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Till Engel, later working with Guy Livingston and Andreas Reiner. Winner of the Folkwang Piano Prize, he emphasizes contemporary American repertoire and collaborates with young composers, including his 2009 project of 12 commissioned variations. Schumacher experiments with concert formats, blending piano with rock, electronics, video, and light design. Beyond solo work, he performs with Trio Kayana and the rock band Trustgame.
