Vanessa Wagner (b. 1973, Rennes) is a French pianist celebrated for her adventurous artistry and wide-ranging repertoire. A child prodigy, she won First Prize at the Paris Conservatoire at 17 and was named “Instrumental Solo Revelation” at the 1999 Victoires de la Musique Classique. Wagner has since performed internationally and built a rich discography that bridges classical tradition and contemporary innovation. Known for bold interdisciplinary collaborations, she champions minimalism and new music, recording works by Adams, Monk, Eno, Sakamoto, and others. Most notably, she has devoted herself to Philip Glass’s complete piano Études, affirming their place in the lineage of great étude cycles.
