Six years after his acclaimed Piano Book, Lang Lang releases Piano Book 2, a new collection of short, approachable piano pieces spanning classical favorites, contemporary works, and music from film, television, and video games. Describing the 32 tracks as “miniature masterpieces,” Lang Lang curated the selection from fan requests, educational syllabuses, and his own teaching experience, alongside personal favorites. The album reflects his mission to inspire new audiences and musicians alike, bridging traditional repertoire with modern media and the evolving culture of digital listening.

Born in 1982, Chinese pianist Lang Lang began playing at age three and gave his first recital before five. A prodigy, he studied at Beijing’s Central Music Conservatory, won the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians at 13, and later trained under Gary Graffman at the Curtis Institute. His breakthrough came at 17 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, launching a global career. Renowned for his artistry and charisma, Lang Lang performs with leading orchestras and conductors, collaborates across genres, and champions music education through his foundation. A UN Messenger of Peace, he is also active in design, philanthropy, and global cultural initiatives.
