Friends for over twenty years, Philip Glass and Tenzin Choegyal began their collaboration when Glass invited Choegyal to perform at Carnegie Hall, sparking an exchange between their distinct musical traditions. Choegyal, a Tibetan artist raised in exile and based in Australia, blends ancestral heritage with contemporary expression. Their album Be The Sky presents original works from their long partnership, with contributions from the Scorchio Quartet, Saori Tsukada, Alex Ring Gray, and children from the Tibetan Children’s Village. Centered on Tibetan poetry and spirituality, the album reflects on exile, honors lineage, and features artwork by Tibetan artist Tenzing Rigdol.
