For her 2026 album Colors of Bach, Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing offers fresh yet respectful reimaginings of twenty of Bach’s most celebrated melodies. Collaborating with the Norwegian String Quintet, piano, and harpsichord, and working with arrangers Tim Allhoff, Jan-Peter Klöpfel, and Jarkko Riihimäki, the project presents a diverse contemporary chamber-music palette. The arrangements range from cinematic textures to elements inspired by Norwegian folk and subtle pop influences, while remaining true to Bach’s optimistic spirit. Recorded at the Oslo Opera House, the album invites listeners to rediscover Bach’s music through vibrant new colors.

Eldbjørg Hemsing (born 1990) is an internationally acclaimed Norwegian violinist and exclusive Sony Classical artist, known for combining artistic excellence with cultural advocacy. She has represented Norway on diplomatic missions worldwide and is deeply committed to education and public diplomacy through initiatives such as SPIRE and the Barratt Due advisory board. Her award-winning discography spans core repertoire and contemporary commissions, earning multiple Norwegian Grammys and Opus Klassik Awards. Hemsing performs on leading global stages and collaborates with major orchestras and composers. She also holds prominent leadership roles in festivals and foundations, performing on a Stradivarius on loan from Dextra Musica.
