The Neave Trio, praised by BBC Music for its warm and beguiling playing, presents its eighth album devoted to piano trios by female composers. The programme features Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio (1846), admired by her contemporaries despite her own doubts, alongside two works by Dora Pejačević, whose second trio reflects her mature late-Romantic voice. Completing the album is Cécile Chaminade’s Piano Trio No. 2 in A minor, a work that enjoyed early success and sustained acclaim following its première in 1886. Together, these pieces highlight the artistic depth, individuality, and historical significance of women composers in the piano trio repertoire.

Since its formation in 2010, the GRAMMY®-nominated Neave Trio (violinist Anna Williams, cellist Mikhail Veselov, and pianist Eri Nakamura) has gained international acclaim for its vibrant and innovative performances. The trio has appeared at prestigious venues and festivals such as Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, Carnegie Hall, and the Smithsonian, and held residencies at institutions including Brown University, MIT, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Passionate advocates of contemporary music, Neave collaborates with composers, dancers, and visual artists, premiering new works and multimedia projects. Their creative outreach continued through the COVID-19 pandemic, and recent highlights include performances across the U.S. and Europe.
