Aline Piboule’s new solo project explores an imaginative dialogue between two early modern composers. Her interpretations of Debussy’s La Mer, D’un cahier d’esquisses, and Clair de lune translate the orchestral and atmospheric colors to the piano with remarkable idiomatic clarity. Complementing this, John Ireland’s piano works Sarnia and Decorations evoke the landscapes and spirit of the Channel Islands, creating a poetic and evocative musical conversation across time and geography.
Aline Piboule, trained at the CNSMD of Lyon and Paris and under Jean Saulnier at the University of Montreal, is an award-winning pianist recognized for her artistry and versatility. She has performed at major festivals and concert halls in France and internationally, including the Philharmonie de Paris, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Centro Beethoven in Buenos Aires. Notably, she collaborates with author Pascal Quignard in “Narrative-Recital” performances. Her recordings, including works by Fauré, Dutilleux, Bach, Liszt, and Greif, have earned numerous distinctions such as Diapason d’Or, CHOC Classica, and ICMA nominations. Committed to education, she teaches piano, designs youth programs, and leads masterclasses at CRR93.
