On their new album released by CAvi Music, the bayerische kammerphilharmonie, together with soloist Gabriel Adroján, presents a selection of works by Mieczysław Weinberg. Renowned for its technical complexity and emotional depth, Weinberg’s music reflects the profound challenges of his 20th-century life while resisting simple interpretation. The orchestra, performing without a conductor, is celebrated for its innovative programming, collaborative energy, and dedication to contemporary music, including commissions, premieres, and crossover projects. Since its founding, the bayerische kammerphilharmonie has also championed the works of overlooked Jewish composers, highlighting both historical significance and artistic excellence.

Gabriel Adorján, born into a musical family in Munich, began violin studies at age four and trained with Ana Chumachenco, Aaron Rosand, and Igor Ozim. A prizewinner at competitions including the ARD in Munich and the Paganini Competition, he has performed as soloist with orchestras such as the Munich Symphony, Bern Symphony, and Komische Oper Berlin Orchestra under conductors like Kirill Petrenko. An active chamber musician, he was a member of the Zurich Piano Trio and serves as concertmaster and artistic director of the bayerische kammerphilharmonie. Based in Berlin since 2001, he is principal concertmaster at the Komische Oper Berlin and directs the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, while frequently guesting with major European orchestras.
