Hamed Sadeghi’s Convergence is a cross-cultural musical work that blends Persian and Western classical traditions through a deeply expressive and immersive sound world. Written for tar, voice, percussion, oud, and string trio, the album draws on both classical and contemporary Persian poetry, placing the human voice at its emotional and philosophical core. Recorded at the ABC studios in Sydney, the work highlights nuanced interaction, microtonal detail, and rich textures. Sadeghi’s compositions balance structural precision with expressive freedom, supported by acclaimed collaborators including vocalist Aida Manouchehrpour, percussionist Sohrab Kolahdooz, oud player Majdi Aljelda, and a versatile string trio.

Hamed Sadeghi is an award-winning Persian-Australian composer and tar virtuoso based in Sydney, renowned for blending Persian classical music with contemporary Western and jazz traditions. Trained in Tehran, his work reflects both deep cultural heritage and an innovative compositional approach. As founder of Eishan Ensemble, he has toured internationally and performed at major venues including Sydney Opera House and WOMADelaide. Sadeghi also collaborates in experimental projects such as Vazesh and the orchestral work Empty Voices. Beyond performance, he composes for theatre, dance, and film, working with leading Australian arts organisations. His acclaimed career includes ARIA and APRA award nominations and performances alongside celebrated Iranian musicians including Shahram Nazeri.
