Miku Sakakibara graduated from the music department of Aichi Prefectural Meiwa High School before entering the Professional Artist Course at Nagoya University of Arts as a full scholarship student. In 2025, she studied abroad at the Detmold University of Music as an exchange student. Sakakibara has earned major honors in national and international competitions, including second place and the Nagoya Mayor’s Award at the Nagoya Youth Piano Competition, top prizes at the Chopin Competition in Asia, and recognition at the Burckhardt, Tokyo International, and Kyoto International music competitions. A Yamada Sadao Music Foundation scholar from 2023 to 2025, she currently studies under Kentaro Kawada and Naomi Konno. This album, her second session recording, features Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky.
