To mark his final season as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conductor Gustavo Dudamel presents a two-part release devoted to music by Sergei Prokofiev. The first album features a dynamic performance of Romeo and Juliet, recorded live at Walt Disney Concert Hall and released digitally in February. The second album offers a distinctive interpretation of Peter and the Wolf, featuring narration by acclaimed actor Viola Davis. Together, these recordings highlight Dudamel’s long association with the orchestra and showcase Prokofiev’s vivid storytelling through both symphonic intensity and spoken-word performance, presented across digital and vinyl formats.

Gustavo Dudamel (born 26 January 1981 in Barquisimeto) is a Venezuelan conductor and violinist. He attended the Jacinto Lara Conservatory and the Latin-American Violin Academy. In 1999, he was appointed music director of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. Dudamel made his US conducting debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1995, and has been the orchestra's music director since 2009. In 2023, the New York Philharmonic appointed Dudamel as its next Music and Artistic Director, effective with the 2026–2027 season. He was named one of Time magazine's most influential 100 people in 2010.
