Andrés Gabetta, joined by Veronica Cangemi, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, and the Gabetta Consort, presents From Venice to Buenos Aires, a musical journey linking eighteenth-century Venice with the vibrant culture of Buenos Aires. Centered on concertos by Antonio Vivaldi and the passionate world of Ástor Piazzolla’s María de Buenos Aires, the album explores the enduring influence of Italian music across centuries and continents. Contemporary composer Luca Salvadori contributes original works such as Overture: Tango-Baroque and Mater Maria, skillfully blending Baroque forms with Nuevo Tango rhythms. Conceived as a tribute to women, the album uses the figure of Maria as a unifying theme, from Vivaldi’s concerto dedicated to Anna Maria to Piazzolla’s female-centered arias. Additional works by Giovanni Bononcini and Leonardo Vinci further enrich this vivid exploration of musical dialogue between past and present, sacred and secular traditions.

Renowned as a premier baroque musician, violinist and conductor Andrés Gabetta is celebrated for his vibrant, expressive performances using "Belle Époque" instruments. He regularly graces prestigious global concert halls, collaborating with elite artists like Cecilia Bartoli and Christophe Coin. Driven by extensive research, Gabetta dedicates himself to rediscovering and recording rare, unpublished Italian and French baroque repertoires alongside canonical masterpieces. After serving as concertmaster for prominent ensembles, he founded the Cappella Gabetta and later the Gabetta Consort. This highly adaptable ensemble showcases Gabetta’s distinctively refined style, bringing unique, historically informed musical discoveries to the modern stage.
