Born in Seoul in 1987, South Korean classical cellist Hee-Young Lim is an acclaimed soloist, orchestral musician, and educator. After entering the Korean National University of Arts at age fifteen as its youngest-ever student, she completed advanced studies with highest honors at the New England Conservatory, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, and the Hochschule für Musik Weimar. Lim won first prize at the 2009 Washington International Competition and was later appointed principal solo cellist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2018, she became the first Korean cellist appointed to the faculty of the Beijing Central Conservatory, following her prominent debut recording of French cello concertos with the London Symphony Orchestra
Born in Changchun, China, in 1985, guitarist Chuan Chen is an acclaimed international musician who began his training under his father before studying extensively with Professor Chen Zhi at the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM). Throughout his academic career, Chen received professional guidance from prominent global artists, including Roland Dyens and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. A recipient of multiple accolades, he secured top prizes at the Hong Kong International Guitar Competition, the Barrios WorldWideWeb Competition, and served as an accompanist for the 2012 Yehudi Menuhin Competition. As chief of the CCOM Guitar Ensemble, Chen has earned widespread acclaim for his solo and chamber performances across Europe, America, and Asia.
