Allison Loggins-Hull: The Cleveland Residency is a 2026 recording released by The Cleveland Orchestra on its in-house label, featuring works by former Daniel R. Lewis Composer Fellow Allison Loggins-Hull. Conducted by music director Franz Welser-Möst and recorded in spatial audio at Severance Music Center, the album presents three works created during Loggins-Hull’s residency from 2022 to 2025. It opens with Legacy, a string sextet honoring Cleveland cultural institutions, followed by Can You See?, an orchestral reworking of earlier material reflecting on American identity through references to “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The program concludes with Grit. Grace. Glory., a 22-minute orchestral work inspired by the city of Cleveland, structured in four movements that explore its character and community. The release highlights themes of place, collaboration, and contemporary orchestral storytelling.

Allison Loggins-Hull is a genre-defying composer, flutist, and producer whose work spans orchestral, chamber, electronic, and film music. Recognized as a musical “powerhouse” by The Washington Post, her compositions integrate influences from Black American music, contemporary production techniques, and Afrofuturist concepts, resulting in a vivid and innovative sonic language centered on community, culture, and identity. She has received major commissions and premieres from leading ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and The Cleveland Orchestra. A former Resident Artistic Partner with the New Jersey Symphony and Lewis Composer Fellow in Cleveland, she has also collaborated with pop artists and contributed to film scores, demonstrating a versatile practice that bridges classical and contemporary musical worlds.
