This recording showcases Franz Schubert’s profound works for piano four hands, highlighted by the monumental Fantasia in F minor, the lyrical Rondo in A major, and the expressive Divertissement à la hongroise. Capturing the essence of four-hand repertoire, which requires complete artistic unity in timing, breathing, and imagination, the performance transforms the piano into a rich, orchestral landscape. Schubert’s unique blend of drama, intimacy, and deep humanity is brought to life through the collaborative artistry of internationally acclaimed pianists Balázs Fülei and Jakob Fichert, whose musical dialogue celebrates the composer's timeless brilliance.

Pianist Balázs Fülei is an acclaimed Hungarian musician whose achievements include winning the Liszt Ferenc, Artisjus, and Junior Prima prizes, alongside being named a Steinway Artist in 2020. His vast repertoire spans over thirty piano concertos, featuring the complete concertos of Beethoven, Liszt, Brahms, and Bartók. After gaining early international recognition through major competition victories, Fülei made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008 and has since performed globally at prestigious venues and with top-tier orchestras. Dedicated to education, he serves as Professor and Head of the Chamber Music Department at the Liszt Academy and founded the Echo Summer Academy.

Jakob Fichert is an internationally acclaimed pianist and pedagogue whose career spans extensive global performances and highly praised recordings for labels like Naxos and Resonus Classics. A dedicated chamber musician, Fichert frequently collaborates with prominent artists, including cellist Matthias Gredler and pianist Balázs Fülei. He studied at the Royal College of Music and later earned a PhD from the University of York, specializing in the piano works of Adolf Busch, which led to publications with Breitkopf & Härtel. Highly sought after as an educator, Fichert has given international masterclasses and serves as Professor in Performance at Leeds Conservatoire and Lecturer at the University of York.
