Ranging from the early Partita in G major to the dramatic B minor Sonata and late 1780s masterpieces, the programme traces Haydn's stylistic evolution alongside contemporary advancements in instrument design. Folk-inspired works like the Capriccio in G major and Fantasia in C major complement compositions defined by elegance, wit, and expressive depth. Throughout, Donohoe’s characteristic clarity, rhythmic vitality, and structural insight vividly illuminate Haydn’s inventiveness and enduring craftsmanship.
