Featuring "Rendezvous for Brass," Christian Sprenger and Genesis Brass deliver a vibrant album blending virtuosic brass brilliance with compelling rhythmic drive. The recording showcases a diverse collection of new compositions and original arrangements by Sprenger and Anne Weckeßer, highlighting the ensemble's multifaceted artistry. Composed of elite musicians from leading German orchestras, genesis brass merges into a beautifully homogeneous body of sound. Selected works on the album are further enhanced by dynamic percussion, intensifying the ensemble's groove and creating an energetic, colorful musical experience filled with surprising, engaging moments.
Founded in 2003, Genesis Brass consists of nine elite musicians from various German orchestras, performing in a distinct configuration of four trumpets/flugelhorn, four trombones, and tuba. Under the leadership of artistic director, composer, and arranger Christian Sprenger, this continuous collaboration has forged an unmistakable, authentic, and highly individual ensemble sound. A unique highlight of genesis brass programs is their accessibility; the group provides sheet music of their repertoire, offering listeners the exceptional opportunity to perform the exact works they have just heard in concert within their own brass ensembles.
