Greek-Russian pianist Sasha Stychkina, the youngest finalist and winner in the history of Paris's Marguerite Long International Piano Competition, presents her debut recital album. Recorded at Berlin's Teldex studio under the artistic guidance of her mentor, the renowned pianist Kirill Gerstein, the project features a diverse program spanning works by Weber, Bartók, Ravel, Chopin, and Liszt. Balancing virtuosity, dance, and spirituality, the album notably introduces listeners to the visionary Five Preludes by Alexei Vladimirovich Stanchinsky. Stychkina highlights this obscure, mystical early-20th-century composer, a tragic figure championed by Scriabin whose promising career was cut short at age twenty-six.

Sasha Stychkina (born 2003 in Moscow) is a Berlin-based Greek-Russian pianist of exceptional promise who achieved international acclaim at age fifteen as the youngest finalist and prizewinner in the history of Paris's Marguerite Long Competition. After early training at the Moscow Conservatory's Central Music School and numerous competition victories, she stepped back from the contest circuit to focus on artistic growth. Since 2019, she has studied under Kirill Gerstein at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. Stychkina has performed at world-renowned venues like Wigmore Hall and the Barbican Centre, collaborating with major orchestras and distinguished artists such as Gidon Kremer and Sir András Schiff.
