This recording features pianist Giuseppe Bruno performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The London Sketchbook, a collection of short keyboard pieces and compositional exercises written during a formative stay in London from 1764 to 1765. Created when Mozart was just eight years old, these miniatures reveal an early mastery of the Classical style, heavily influenced by his encounter with composer Johann Christian Bach. Rather than treating these works as historical curiosities, Bruno’s interpretation emphasizes their fresh melodic intuition, youthful vitality, and structural elegance. Ultimately, the album offers a compelling glimpse into the foundational creative workshop of one of history's greatest musical minds.

Giuseppe Bruno is an accomplished pianist, composer, and conductor who graduated with honors before further honing his skills at IRCAM and under renowned mentors. Currently serving as the Director of the "Giacomo Puccini" Conservatoire in La Spezia, Bruno has established an international reputation as a brilliant soloist and chamber musician. He has conducted prestigious ensembles globally, including the Archi della Scala, and won prizes at major competitions like Rome and "Viotti." His extensive discography spans multiple major labels and radio networks, while his compositions and transcriptions are published and performed worldwide, reflecting his multifaceted expertise.
