In celebration of their 75th anniversary, conductor Daniel Geiss and the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie have released THE BACH PROJECT in collaboration with PASCHENrecords. Dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach’s Köthen period prior to his 1723 relocation to Leipzig, the recording highlights the composer’s signature synthesis of emotional expression, mathematical clarity, and structural balance. Designed around the concept of "grand chamber music," the album features authentic compositions alongside acclaimed 20th-century reconstructions derived from later harpsichord versions. Through dynamic interactions between solo instruments and the string ensemble, the project demonstrates Bach’s enduring musical genius and mastery of orchestral nuances.

In 2001, the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra celebrated its 50th anniversary, marked by the opening of the transformed 13th-century St. Mary’s Church Concert Hall as its premier rehearsal and venue space. Redesigned by Finnish architect Pekka Salminen, the cathedral became a modern concert facility with exceptional acoustics. Operating under the Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz Theater und Orchester GmbH, the ensemble delivers roughly 300 annual performances, spanning chamber music, educational concerts, and music theater across Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and beyond. Broadening its global footprint, the orchestra reaches extensive audiences through regional and national radio broadcasts alongside critically acclaimed compact disc recordings.
