Olivier Fortin and Emmanuel Frankenberg present a curated program of French Baroque orchestral transcriptions for two harpsichords, reviving a historical practice that brought popular opera tunes into intimate salons. Featuring works by Rameau, Marais, d'Anglebert, and Louis Couperin, the collection highlights a dual-harpsichord rendition of Rameau's Les Sauvages that mirrors its grand orchestral adaptation. Utilizing instruments tailored specifically to the French style, the longtime collaborators spent years experimenting with keyboard textures. Through their creative synergy, Fortin and Frankenberg masterfully expand the sonic capabilities of the instrumentation, proving that two harpsichords can generate the rich, expansive power of an ensemble.

Harpsichordist Olivier Fortin graduated with distinction from the Québec Conservatory in 1995 before completing a master's degree at the University of Montreal and undertaking advanced studies in Paris and Amsterdam. After winning top honors at the Montreal Bach and Bruges competitions in 1997, he established a robust international career as a soloist and chamber musician. Fortin regularly tours and records across Europe, Asia, and North America with esteemed ensembles like Masques, Capriccio Stravagante, and Tafelmusik, and collaborates on multi-harpsichord programs with keyboard masters. Also a dedicated educator, he has taught in Québec and currently instructs at Toronto's Tafelmusik Summer Institute.

Amsterdam-based early music specialist Emmanuel Frankenberg is a distinguished dual performer of the harpsichord and natural horn. Raised in a family of Baroque musicians, he graduated with honors in both instruments from the conservatories of The Hague and Amsterdam in 2018. As a highly sought-after freelance soloist, ensemble player, and leader, Frankenberg maintains regular memberships with prestigious groups like Collegium 1704 and Concerto Copenhagen, and frequently performs with the Freiburger Barockorchester and the Orchestra of the 18th Century. His multifaceted career includes solo CD releases on prominent labels like Alpha and honors such as the Rabo-B. de Bruin prize.
