Born in Leipzig, German coloratura soprano Simone Kermes (b. 1965) is an internationally acclaimed opera singer celebrated for her virtuosic vocal technique and dramatic expression. Educated with distinction at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre, Kermes has performed signature roles, such as Mozart's Queen of the Night and Fiordiligi, at prestigious opera houses and concert halls across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia. Her extensive discography and solo albums have earned top industry honors, including the Diapason d’Or, Gramophone Recording of the Month, Russia's Golden Mask, and multiple Echo Klassik awards, highlighting her prominent standing in the global classical music landscape.
