Flautist Ana Ligia Mastruzzo and guitarist Federico Núñez present Tangos del Olvido, a chamber music album featuring original flute and guitar arrangements of works by notable female Argentine tango composers, including Tita Merello, Eladia Blázquez, and Nelly Omar. Inspired by the musicological research of Soledad Venegas and Julia Winokur, the project revitalizes a lesser-known repertoire from a fresh classical perspective. By translating these historical pieces into intimate chamber duets, Mastruzzo and Núñez honor Argentina’s rich tango heritage, bridging the gap between cultural memory and contemporary performance to offer listeners an imaginative reinterpretation of the genre's forgotten classics.

Ana Ligia Mastruzzo is an Argentine-Italian flutist, artistic researcher, and cultural curator recognized for her work in contemporary classical music and cross-cultural sound heritage. Trained in the French flute tradition at Trieste's Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini, she integrates technical precision with experimental techniques, performance research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Mastruzzo’s solo project Multisonora won a Global Music Award, highlighting her advocacy for new repertoire and Argentine contemporary music. Alongside her chamber duo with guitarist Federico Núñez, she serves as a professor at the “Manuel de Falla” Conservatory in Buenos Aires, actively contributing to global academic exchanges, curatorial initiatives, and published research on performance theory and Mesoamerican musical heritage.

Argentine composer, guitarist, and academic Federico Núñez holds a PhD in Arts cum laude from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, alongside master’s degrees in guitar performance and 20th-century Latin American music. A D’Addario Strings Artist published by Cayambis Music Press, Núñez serves on the composition and guitar faculties at UNA and the Manuel de Falla Conservatory. His distinguished career encompasses international performances, album recordings, and prestigious awards, including the Municipal Award of Buenos Aires and the "Juan Carlos Paz" Composition Prize. Additionally, he co-directs the FIGS Festival in Chile and remains an active scholar, resident artist, and organizer of global guitar festivals.
