Featuring the second volume of the ASM Forte Forward series, violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter presents works by André Previn and Sebastian Currier. Highlighting her deep connection with Previn, the album includes his 2009 Piano Trio and his 2010 Violin Concerto No. 2, a Baroque-inspired work scored for solo violin, string orchestra, and harpsichord. The release also features Currier’s Ringtone Variations, a commission for violin and double bass written for Mutter and her foundation's scholarship recipient, Roman Patkoló. Utilizing everyday cellular ringtones as thematic material, Currier's duo offers an inventive, accessible exploration of contemporary chamber instrumentation.

Anne-Sophie Mutter (born 29 June 1963) is one of the most distinguished violinists of her generation. Born in Rheinfelden, Germany, she began studying violin at five and rose to prominence after her 1977 debut with the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan. Since the early 1980s, she has performed worldwide and recorded more than 50 albums, primarily for Deutsche Grammophon, earning multiple Grammy and major international awards. Renowned for championing contemporary music, she has premiered works written especially for her by leading composers. Mutter is also dedicated to philanthropy, founding organizations that support young string players and serving as president of German Cancer Aid (2021–2025).
