BR Klassik’s new studio album highlights the musical mastery of "Waltz King" Johann Strauss II through a curated collection of mostly lesser-known works, alongside famous pieces such as the overture to The Gypsy Baron and Perpetuum Mobile. Expanding on his father's legacy, Strauss refined Viennese concert waltzes and operettas into globally celebrated orchestral repertoire. This recording spans his diverse creative output, including marches, polkas, waltzes, operatic excerpts, and surprise bonus tracks, featuring compositions like the Revolution March, Carnival Pictures, North Sea Pictures, and the Csárdás from Knight Pásmán.

Patrick Hahn (born 1995) is an Austrian conductor, pianist, and composer who trained at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and assisted Kirill Petrenko at the Bavarian State Opera. After his 2014 professional conducting debut in Budapest, he rapidly built an international career across opera and orchestral repertoire. In 2021, he became Germany's youngest Generalmusikdirektor at the Wuppertaler Bühnen und Sinfonieorchester, a tenure running through 2026, while also serving as principal guest conductor for the Munich Radio Orchestra, artistic advisor to the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic, and principal guest conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra starting in the 2024–2025 season.
