Dutch jazz pianist, composer, and educator Rembrandt Frerichs (born 1977) is renowned for incorporating American jazz, European classical traditions, Arabic music, and philosophy into his artistic work. A honors graduate of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague who made his North Sea Jazz Festival debut at age 22, Frerichs leads acclaimed ensembles including the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio, Levantasy, and Chiaroscuro. He has collaborated extensively with prominent international musicians and earned Edison Award nominations for his albums Self Portrait and A Long Story Short. Alongside his performing career, Frerichs serves as a jazz piano instructor at the Tilburg Conservatory and directs multiple prominent Dutch jazz festivals.
