Cardelli navigates a rich historical journey spanning the Scriabin, de Schloezer, Lazarus, and Cornman families, progressing from Romantic Lisztian traditions to 20th-century avant-garde and modern idioms. Highlights include rare early works by Scriabin himself, remarkable pieces by his short-lived prodigy son Julian, a late-20th-century atonal theme and variations by his daughter Marina, and compositions by his extended descendants. Matteo Cardelli is an acclaimed Italian pianist known for his depth as a soloist and chamber musician. Beginning his studies at age seven, Cardelli earned advanced degrees from the Ferrara Conservatory and the Musik Akademie Basel under Filippo Gamba and Anton Kernjak, complemented by masterclasses with luminaries like Sir András Schiff and Paul Badura-Skoda. A laureate of major international competitions—including the Busoni, Casagrande, and Euregio awards—Cardelli has performed in prestigious venues across Europe, Asia, and the United States. His career highlights include concertos with the Sinfonieorchester Basel and collaborations with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Soloists. Cardelli also active serves as a pedagogue and accompanist in Switzerland.
