The album features César Franck’s iconic Violin Sonata in A Major (1886)—presented in Jules Delsart’s authorized cello transcription alongside Franck’s posthumous Mélancolie—paired with the late Cello Sonata, Op. 84, by his devoted student Vincent d'Indy. Structured as a Baroque-inspired suite, d'Indy’s work demonstrates a sophisticated absorption and evolution of his master's thematic unity across four decades. Recorded in two sessions by the Istanbul-based duo, both faculty members at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, this recording illuminates an enduring artistic lineage.

Turkish cellist Gözde Yaşar (b. 1985) studied at the Bilkent School of Music and Performing Arts under Gara Aliyev before earning a Fulbright Scholarship to complete her master's at SUNY Purchase College with Julia Lichten, where she won the 2008 Concerto Competition. She pursued doctoral and Baroque viola da gamba studies at the University of Maryland under Evelyn Elsing and Kenneth Slowik, participating in masterclasses with Mischa Maisky and Bonnie Hampton. An active soloist and chamber musician, Yaşar has performed with the Purchase Symphony, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, and internationally across Europe and the US. She currently teaches cello and chamber music at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory.

Turkish pianist, composer, and pedagogue İnci Yakar Birol studied at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory before completing her Concert Pianist and Soloist diplomas at the Hochschule für Musik Saar under Thomas Duis and Fedele Antonicelli. A recipient of numerous prestige scholarships, including the Eczacıbaşı and Richard Wagner Verband awards, she has performed internationally at the Schwetzingen Mozart Festival and alongside ensembles like the Luxembourg Sinfonietta. Her 2021 solo album A Tribute to Saygun featured her award-winning composition "Audiobook," leading to a solo Gala concert performance in Washington, D.C. A professor since 2024, she currently teaches at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
