_____________________

The pianist Alexandra Sostmann is known for her refined interpretation of Bach, as evidenced by her exceptional recording of The Well-Tempered Clavier (released by Prospero in 2023). However, her musical work is not solely centered on Johann Sebastian Bach; it is also driven by a deep curiosity for tracing developments and interconnections throughout music history, making these relationships audible.

In her latest recording, from silence, she remains true to this principle by bridging the Baroque to the present, while illuminating the prevalent view of music across cultures as a medium between immanence and transcendence. What fascinate her especially are the transformations and transitions reflected in the music. Silence also plays an important role – as an integral component of music and as a cipher for what cannot be expressed in words.

High Resolution 24-bit / 96 kHz
