Sony Masterworks announces Schubert: Symphonies Vol. 1 — featuring Symphonies No. 7 and No. 4 — performed by Paavo Järvi and The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, to be released on December 5, 2025 (ex Japan). Järvi and DKAM, honored with major awards in 2023 and 2024, begin a five-volume Schubert cycle to be completed by 2028. Their approach views Schubert’s emotionally rich, innovative writing through a modern perspective. Volume 1 includes the celebrated “Unfinished” Symphony No. 7 and the dramatic Symphony No. 4 “Tragic.” Recorded by Polyhymnia and produced by Philip Traugott, the release uses authoritative Urtext performance materials.
